Staff

All BCD staff share a passion for children and are required to have some level of training. In addition, the staff is trained in Emergency First Aid and CPR and has undergone a criminal record and child abuse registry check.

Rilla Drobot – Executive Director

Rilla’s career with Brock Corydon Daycare has spanned over 29 years. Since 1995 she has served as Director and is currently the Executive Director. Rilla oversees all aspects of the program and is primarily responsible for the financial management of the Daycare. She has a degree in Physical Education and a certificate in Education and is classified as an ECE III. Prior to her years at Brock Corydon Daycare she worked as the Adult and Pre-School Program Director at the YMCA-YWCA.

Lucy Chagas – Director

Lucy’s career with Brock Corydon Daycare has spanned over 28 years. Since 1999 she has served as the Assistant Director and is currently the Director. Lucy has the dual responsibility of administration and program management of the daycare. She has a degree in Human Ecology with a major in Family Studies and Child Development and is classified as an ECE III. Prior to her years at Brock Corydon Daycare she worked as an Inclusion Support worker at the Mount Carmel Clinic and a Pre-school Supervisor at McPhillips Children’s Center.

Cynthia Szkop – Supervisor II 

Cynthia has been working at Brock Corydon Daycare for 21 years. She is currently a Supervisor II overseeing the nursery/kindergarten program and is responsible for the care and education of the children. Cynthia has obtained her Early Childhood Educator III classification; specializing in children with special needs. Prior to working at Brock Corydon Daycare she attained an Early Stimulating Therapist Degree and Pre-school Education Degree from Argentina.

Polin Rozenman – Supervisor I

Polin has been working at Brock Corydon Daycare for 17 years. She is currently a Supervisor I overseeing the school-age program and is responsible for the care and education of the children. Polin has obtained her Early Childhood Educator II Classification in addition to a Pre-School Education Degree from Argentina.   Prior to working at Brock Corydon Daycare she worked at Carpathia Children’s Centre.

Melanie LeBrun – ECE II

Melanie has been working at Brock Corydon Daycare for 18 years. She is responsible for planning and implementing a safe and enriching program for both the nursery/kindergarten and school-age programs. Melanie recently obtained her Early Childhood Educator II classification. Prior to working at Brock Corydon Daycare she worked for Drake Meddox ensuring the health and safety of children in shelters.

Addy Woods – ECE II

Addy has been working at Brock Corydon Daycare for 5 years.  She obtained her Early Childhood Educator II from RRC in 2004 and worked as a Kindergarten Program Supervisor at Laura Secord Community Childcare and an Inclusion worker at Knox Day Nursery.  Prior to working at Brock Corydon Daycare she worked at Taking Care, a licensed non-profit centre.

Barb Hotz – CCA

Barb has been working at Brock Corydon Daycare for 21 years. She is a Child Care Assistant in the school-age program. Barb has obtained an Educational Assistant Diploma.   Prior to working at Brock Corydon Daycare she worked in the Winnipeg School Division as an Education Assistant. 

Karissa Vanderhorst – CCA

Karissa has been working with Brock Corydon Daycare for 2 years. She is a Childcare Assistant in the nursery/kindergarten program.
